Arnault de Torquat, Partner and Chairman, worked 12 Years at Citibank in London and Zurich, Managing Director at Bankers Trust in 1993, Managing Director at Salomon Brothers in London, CEO of Salomon Smith Barney (France) in 1996, and Managing Director at Barclays Capital from 2000. Arnault graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and holds a master in law of the University of Paris.
Abid Majid, Partner and Managing Director, joined Goldman Sachs, London in 1997 in Debt Capital Markets, Emerging Markets in the Fixed Income division and then the Credit Risk Management & Advisory department; he followed this by moving to the buy-side joining Tailwind Advisory & Management, an equity long/short hedge fund. In early 2006 he joined Harmony Capital Management as a Portfolio Manager. Abid graduated in economics from the London School of Economics.
Luigi Barzini, Partner, started his career at S.G. Warburg & Co in 1978. He was Director in charge of Credit Suisse First Boston’s investment banking activities in Italy until 1990, and an early participant to the London hedge fund community. He is a graduate “summa cum laude” in Economics at the University of Rome. Luigi is a founding member of Harmony Capital Fund Limited.
Halim Saad is a member of the Investment Manager’s investment committee. He also focuses on business development. He is founder and Chairman of Vega Capital, a Private Equity and Venture Capital boutique. He is also Managing Partner at Citation Capital, a Natural Resources Private Equity boutique. His career started in 1988 as Head of Quants at Drexel Burham Lambert and in 1990 became Head of Institutional Sales at Paine Webber in Paris. In 1997, he was appointed General Manager of the Private Client Division and B2B services of Refco Europe. Halim was appointed the CEO in London of the Regulated Business of International Financial Advisors, Kuwait. Halim holds a thesis in Quantum Mechanics from University of Paris VI and a Masters in Finance from ESSEC business school.
Jacques Bernard is associated investment advisor to the Investment Manager and holds the risk management function. Based in Dubai, he is consulting with prime financial institutions in the GCC having set-up his private consulting firm since June of 2010 in Dubai. Previously Jacques was appointed Chief Investment Officer at National Bonds Corporation. Jacques previously served Global Investment House Kuwait in the region as Head of Investment Funds. His most recent European assignment was Chief Investment Officer at Banque Ferrier Lullin & Cie Geneva, a wholly owned subsidiary of UBS, where he also served as a member of the Executive Board. Prior to these assignments Mr. Bernard spent fourteen years in Paris and in London with Citigroup. Jacques Bernard received an MBA with distinction in Finance and Banking from Pace University New York.
